Caloy gets a kick out of restaurant logo mascots (is that what they’re called? waddahell). I think it began when he saw Inasal Chicken Bacolod’s logo. The grinning thumbs-upping chicken who looks very pleased with himself. βIihawin din naman,β Caloy said in between laughter.
hospital visits
Posted September 29, 2008
on:Last Thursday, my Tito Eddie was rushed to the hospital after having his second heart attack. Yesterday, Mama Tess (my lola), Mommy and I went to see him.
I donβt know much about medical stuff, but from what I heard, his condition was graver than his first heart attack last January. He couldnβt speak. He could barely lift his body off the bed. He wasnβt allowed food, not even water.
When we entered the CCU section where he was confined, we passed by rooms filled with old people. And I mean old. I canβt help thinking, how could my tito be in this place? He was barely 50 years old. And he was a good man. In the 22 years Iβve known him, I can never remember a time when he was mad at me, raised his voice or even spanked me. My childhood memories of him were fun and happy, like giving me a few coins so I can buy candy, lifting me on his shoulders so I can feel high and proud, and even reading me bedtime stories while I sat on his large tummy. He was a nice man. A great uncle.

Caramel cravings
Posted September 26, 2008
on:I’ve been craving SanFo’s caramel apple for a few days now. Ironic, how the Megamall is so close, yet I can’t find the time (or the opportunity) to go there and grab one.
Drool. Major drool.

on:Mirmo Invades Norway
Posted September 25, 2008
on:I checked out Jentrix’s (Mirmo’s older brother) Friendster profile yesterday. Wala lang. Just want to check out how they’re doing. Anyway, seems like they’re enjoying Norway. Good for them. π
I grabbed these from Jentrix’s profile.

Qool memories
Posted September 24, 2008
on:I miss the old QOOL.
It’s not that I don’t like our present team. I guess I just miss being part of a big group. I miss having noisy breakfast conversations and lunch breaks filled with qool-itan. I miss team gatherings, videoke nights and drinking sessions. I miss chit-chatting at the lobby and girly bathroom trips. I miss hanging out at Starbucks and going bowling. I even miss the crazy games we used to play (Natz in your mouth by kuya Nat, hahaha).
I miss everyone.
I miss you guys. Office life isn’t the same without you. π¦
His Iron-y
Posted September 22, 2008
on:Caloy and his friend made a fanart of Iron and the Maiden, a four-issue mini-series comics published by Aspen Comics. Almost a couple of months have passed since he put it up on his Deviant.
Last Friday he got a pleasant surprise from none other than Jason Rubin.
I was like WOW. I don’t know much about this industry, but I think being praised by the creator/writer of a comics IS a big deal.
I can’t check out the actual page (something’s wrong with my PC), but here is the site and the comments.
Congratulations sweetie. You’ve made me so proud. Konti na lang pang-Marvel na (Uy, flattered).
Okay, tama na. Lalaki na naman ulo mo. Hehehe.
I love you. Pa-cheeseburger ka ha. π
