Chasing Ironies

Ever since we saw the flying house tied to balloons almost a year ago, the boyfriend and I have anticipated Disney-Pixar’s movie, Up. We even planned to push our trip to Alaminos by a few hours so we can watch the first screening on May 29. Much to our dismay, the movie was released all over the world, but not here. WTF.

Carl Fredricksen tied hundreds of balloons to his house to make it fly to South America, a promise he made to his late wife Ellie.

When we came back from the province, we were both dying to watch the movie. Especially because some friends have raved about seeing it online already. Thanks to pirated DVDs, we got to watch it. Hee. Malabo, pero pwede na. That’s how addicted we are to the movie.

The verdict? The movie was excellent. Our long wait was worth it.

We left for Alaminos last Friday and came back this Tuesday. I brought home some Alaminos longganisa, plenty of photos and these thoughts.

10. When everyone is speaking in Pangalatok around you, and you can’t understand a single word, you can’t help but feel a bit out of place. And out of sorts. The boyfriend cheered me up and told me not to feel bad. Anyway if things work out, I might end up speaking (or, at least, understanding) the language. LOL.

If things work out, I'll understand everything they talk about. Hee.

9. Caloy looked so darn cute when he was a kid. I’ll post pictures as soon as I get my hands on them, har har! 🙂

So, hello rainy season. 🙂

*clip from the Korean film, The Classic. I looove this movie.

I’ve been looking for this sort-of manifesto for years. One of my college professors sent it through e-mail, and I accidentally deleted it. I found it again at this site. Well, I edited it a bit.

  • Stop trying to change yourselves for a relationship that’s not meant to be. Be who you are, know what you want.
  • Slower is better. Never live your life for a man before you find what makes you truly happy. Will he do the same?
  • If a relationship ends because the man was not treating you as you deserve then heck no, you can’t “be friends.”
  • A friend wouldn’t mistreat a friend. Don’t settle. If you feel like he is stringing you along, then he probably is.
  • Don’t stay because you think “it will get better.” You’ll be mad at yourself a year later for staying when things are not better.
  • The only person you can control in a relationship is you. Submit only when you get married.
  • Avoid men who’ve got a bunch of children by a bunch of different women. He didn’t marry them when he got them pregnant why would he treat you any differently?

Am not Internet-savvy. I always preferred journal writing, but because I spend like, 10 hours a day infront of the PC, I do not have time to write on paper anymore (I miss it, though).

The boyfriend: Hahaha. Digs.

Ikaw, tunay na lalake ka? Click mo.

Today, I feel:

  • Disappointed. How come Ron Howard manages to screw up Dan Brown’s novels’ movie adaptations? He f*cked up the Da Vinci Code and now he ruined Angels and Demons (which, I enjoyed reading). He left out plenty of good parts. I didn’t even feel the clash between religion and science, which was the whole point of the story. Grrr.
